At Prakritii, being enthused means doing what we do best - producing and marketing dinnerware that's biodegradable, sturdy and stands out for its natural look and feel. We continue to be true to the earth by using rural by-prooduct i.e. fallen leaves - that we borrow (and often save from being burned) and then return to the earth. Our dinnerware are 100% free of chemicals, lacquers, glues, bonding agents or anything toxic, that keeps your food and our earth free from harm. What's the purpose........ Every year thousands of tons of waste are generated due to use of disposable tableware made from plastic and styrofoam. The need of the hour is to make products that are biodegradable and/or can be easily recycled for future use. Our dinnerware are made from the shredded leaves of the Areca Palm tree. No trees are chopped or cut at any stage during the making process and only shredded areca leaves are used to make this product. Researches carried out by Central Food Technology Research Institute (CFTRI), Mysore have demonstrated that the Arecanut sheaths (extension of the leaf) could be utilised for the maunufacture of plates/bowls.
