Prior to establishing ALPHA INTERNATIONAL in 1989, Mr. P.C. Baid was based in Mumbai and had experience of about 10 years in Importing and Marketing of Technical Drawing and Writing Instruments from Germany, Japan etc. With his contacts with STAEDTLER and experience in Business, Alpha International was appointed as a Distributor for STAEDTLER products for the most part of India.

In 2001, Alpha International was appointed as the Exclusive Importer and Distributor for India by STAEDTLER Mars GmbH & Co. KG, Germany, a major achievement for Alpha since STAEDTLER is a Global Leader in its chosen field of operation. This was possible purely because of our expertise, dedication and hard work.

Over the years Alpha has grown from strength to strength, starting from a regional distribution base, to now servicing customers on a PAN INDIA level. We have a Team of 50 highly motivated and dedicated personnel, and branches in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai. A Pan India network of 25 Master Distributors and catering to more than 1000 retail outlets, and growing.

Alpha understands the Indian Market and is well geared to adapt itself to the ever demanding and changing business environment. Under the able leadership of Mr. Vikash Jain, son of Mr. P.C. Baid , new inroads have been carved, by introducing India specific products and packaging to suit the traditional retail business on one hand and to cater to the Modern Retail platforms including E-Commerce on the other hand.

Alpha is grateful to Mr. R. Bernhardt and Mr. Jens Mohrle, who have headed the Asia Pacific Business of STAEDTLER in the past for their cooperation and support over the years. Currently we are ably supported by Ms. Criss Grape, Head of Sales Asia, Pacific, Middle East and Africa. Ms. Claudia Brandt, Area Sales Manager, Asia Pacific, now responsible for the Indian Market and we are thankful to her for the continued support and consideration.
